Gabriela began acting at the age of 11 in her hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At 18 she won a state prize for "Renúncia", a 10-minute monologue she wrote and performed. Her first film, "Severina", screened at Festival de Cannes 2010. Her second film, "Queen River", has been screened in South Korea at SESIFF 2014. She was Assistant Director and Dramaturg for "Two Roses for Richard III", a BufoMecanica/Royal Shakespeare Company production at the RSC's World Shakespeare Festival 2012. As of 2013 she lives in New York City where she collaborates continuously with Illium Pictures (film) and Baby Crow Productions (theater) creating new work for both mediums. She holds an M.F.A. in Acting from the New School for Drama and is proud to be in the first class of The Michael Chekhov School in Hudson, NY.
