Sara Mitchell is a film and theatre artist based out of Chicago. She is a believer in the power of story telling and works in service to attaining transformative moments within the stories we tell. In 2009 she moved away to pursue her BFA in Acting at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. While in Philadelphia Sara performed in the plays Julius Caesar and Proof, she was the Assistant Director of The Children's Hour and On The Verge, the Assistant Stage Manager of the musical Meshugguh-Nuns! and was the Stage Manager of Tourettes: A Dancing Disorder for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She also worked as the set designer for Doubt: A Parable and the lighting designer for July 7, 1994. Sara has also been part of two completely devised theatre works, Lost in the Labyrinth, a Children's Theatre piece based on the myths of Icarus and the Minotaur, and Alive!, a beautiful, devised puppet theatre piece which went on to be invited to the Kennedy Center Theatre Arts Festival. After graduation, Sara spent the summer of 2013 in Ireland with her grandparents and continued on a solo backpacking trip around Europe. After returning to the States she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she worked two years behind the scenes on FX's Justified along with various other shows and pilots in the following years. Since returning to Chicago, Sara has worked as the Assistant Director and Stage Manager of Baby Crow's production of Enter Your Sleep with Director Margaret Grace Hee and is honored to join The Flock.
